Off to the Southern Parts

Last week I went south to Pullman to go to see and care for my three oldest "GRAND" sons.... I enjoyed being at their house one whole day...took them to piano lessons and then the next day we all went to Great Grandma's house (27 mi. further south) for another two days. We helped Great Grandmother (my Mom) with her yard work and played a serious Monopoly game that spread over two days. They are wonderful boys --I am proud of them and love them immensely. How God has blessed me with all seven of my grandchildren!!

My 365 Project

I began working on a challenging project of creating one piece of creative 'something' each day for a year way back in 2012. I structured it with a jar of slips of paper with 135 different words, 80-each of slips of paper with "verse", or "watercolor/face/figure", or "doodle/design" so that there is a slip with something for each day as a jump off. My Mom (who lives with me and is an artist, too) jumped in on the project at first. She later dropped out and I fell off the artistic wagon. We had decided not to get too "het up" if we couldn't get the project done on any given day because of the things that happen in life. I most certainly took that to heart! But in recent weeks here in the early part of 2015 I want to return to the discipline of doing something more than just "have-to" each day. Want to participate? Feel free to join in! The name for the little slips of paper that give us the jump-off point for the day: FRAME so check it out and share what you've done!

About Me

AKA “The Designing Woman”, I live with my husband of many years, my mother who is aging gracefully, Bozwell (“Boz”), a Pomeranian, “the cutest dog in the world“, and our boss, Bonnie, the yellow tabby cat.

I am living an ART-full life making watercolor paintings, practicing calligraphy, making books, gardening (well, 95% of the flower and vegetable work is done by my husband and mother-I just enjoy and try to paint the results) and cooking- love the Penzey’s Spice Company’s slogan: “Love people. Cook them tasty food.”

I am blessed with a circle of wonderful, supportive family and friends of many ages and interests. What a good gift from God!

I am a baker of renowned scones, a coffee snob and consumer of fine chocolate on a daily basis. It is my contention that real butter and chocolate are two of the major food groups.
