sketching with watercolor

Today's frame= "watercolor/face/figure"   I chose to do a watercolor sketch.  There is a plant in my studio window that I bought a little over a year ago.  I had had one like it back in the 90's and done a drawing of it with a basket of brown eggs on a lace tablecloth.  I want to re-work that picture (it has potential) but didn't have the plant anymore.  I was thrilled to find this orphan plant at Home Depot in the "clearance" pile.  It has been a really slow-growing baby, but soon.  I admire its amazing vein structure and curvy edged leaves.
Because today is also "write menus, grocery list and shop" day I needed to keep my creative project brief, hence the sketch rather than a full blown water color. (how is that for an extended excuse explanation?!)
So here it is.  Wait for a pencil drawing some day of same plant with some brown eggs.

Come Play with me!

Life is ART--there is beauty everywhere that needs to be looked at and appreciated. Yeah, there is plenty of bad stuff in the world, but God tells us to think on whatever is pure, lovely and of good report (Philippians 4) so I am going to obey...won't you come with me?! Let's make and do things that are beautiful, lovely, fun....
